The Complete Buyer’s Guide to Custom Wine Totes

Wine totes are compared on bottle count and print area. Neither tells you anything about whether the glass survives the walk to the car.

How wide are the cells?

Cut to a named bottle, not to a capacity. Bordeaux is around 3 in, Burgundy nearer 3.4.

An insert sized for the wrong one is discovered at the counter, not in the warehouse.

How high do the dividers run?

Full height, base to neck. The shoulder is the widest part and the part that clashes.

Half-height card separates the bodies and lets the shoulders knock on every corner.

How tall is the tote?

Sides must clear the neck of the tallest bottle you carry, or bottles lever out.

Sparkling and many Burgundy shapes are taller than the standard being assumed.

What is the base?

A reinforced board spreads eighteen pounds across the footprint instead of one bottle.

Ask about the drop too — that is what keeps the glass off the ground.

Then choose the colour

Enjoyable, and safely secondary to the four above.
